The Shire of West Arthur welcomes events and activities, and supports a range of annual events, including the Australia Day Breakfast at Lake Towerrinning, Anzac Day and Sheepfest.

Venues

Darkan has a Town Hall complex, which includes a hall with stage, fully equipped kitchen and bar service area.  Attached to this is the heritage Pioneer Hall.

Located in Arthur River on the Albany Highway is the Arthur River Hall.  Hire costs for these venues can be found on the Fees and Charges Local community groups and not-for-profit organisations have free use of the venues, but must pay a deposit and complete the relevant documents.

Outdoor venues are located at Lake Towerrinning and the Railway Reserve BBQ Shade Shelter in Darkan. Your approved outdoor venue booking is not exclusive, and the Shire advises that the venue remains accessible to the public during your event.

Private venues in town include the West Arthur Community Resource Centre and the Darkan Sporting Complex.
