Playgrounds

There are public playgrounds located at Darkan, Duranillin and Lake Towerinning. 

Skate Park

The skate park opened in December 2000 and has skate ramps, a bike track, half-court basketball and beach volleyball courts, an enclosed shed with a verandah, a drinking fountain, and grassed areas. There is also a gazebo nearby with an electric barbecue.

The Skate Park is available for functions such as birthday parties. An application form must be filled in before approval is given to meet the Council's insurance requirements. For further information, please contact the Shire of West Arthur.

Child Health

The Child Health nurse visits the Community Resource Centre fortnightly on Tuesday by appointment. Bookings and queries can be directed to Williams Medical Centre on 9885 2600.

Day Care

REED Childcare operates Tuesday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm. For enrolments, call the admin on 6832 3825, email them at darkan@reedwa.org.au , or visit their webpage.

Kids Central

It is located at the Darkan & Districts Sports and Community Centre.  Kids Central is the home of Playgroup and Toy Library.   Users can be casual visitors or sign up for membership with an access key.

The playgroup runs fortnightly on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Please join the Darkan Playgroup Facebook page for regular activity updates.
